'Na de vlucht, die verassend genoeg sneller voorbij ging dan gedacht - lang leven de slechte, maar oh zo heerlijke romantische komedies in het vliegtuig - kwam ik aan in Kaapstad: koud dat het was!'
‘Wat ga je doen als je afgestudeerd bent?’ een vraag die moeilijk te beantwoorden leek werd vanaf april dit jaar ineens zelfs leuk om te beantwoorden: ik ga terug naar Kaapstad.
Hoe lang blijven jullie weg?‘ vroegen ze. ‘Geen idee, zolang we het er leuk vinden.’
‘Mijn lichaam gloeit. En wat doe je dan? Je moeder skypen, natuurlijk!’
En tevens des te meer reden om terug te komen!
‘Zonder enige voorbereiding, met slechts één lullig flesje water, in onze zwembroek en Daniël op zijn bootschoenen, gingen we de berg op.’
“Huil je nou?” Ik kijk hem vragend aan.“Nee, Ik ben gewoon blij om je weer te zien, lieverd.”
