Christmas season means tons of food and tons of cooking. Choose the easier option and have a swanky hassle-free Christmas celebration in the Mother City. Trees Restaurant at the Townhouse Hotel has a gourmet Christmas Eve dinner that’ll add some early festive cheer to Noël on Wednesday, 24 December 2014.

Patrons can choose between two main courses and two starters, all of which is conjured up in the eatery’s signature style – think South African cuisine with a global gourmet twist.

MENU FOR THE 2014 CHRISTMAS EVE DINNER AT TREES RESTAURANT

Amuse-bouche

Starter: Smoked Cauliflower Panna Cotta served with Cured Salmon, Apple Caviar, Pickled Cucumber Noodles and Deep Fried Capers

OR

Chicken Broth, Lemongrass, Tatsoi, Shiitake, Radish, Chicken Dumplings and Chinese Omelette

Main Course: Turkey Ballantine stuffed with Beef Mince, Chestnuts and Cranberries, Leek Pommes Purée, Wild Mushrooms, Glazed Baby Carrots and Tarragon Jus

OR

Coriander Crusted Kingklip, Orange and Sweet Potato Gnocchi, Edamame – Daikon salad, Red curry and Coconut sauce

Dessert: Exotic Fruit Gratin with Chilli-scented Chocolate Parfait, Pistachio Soil and Mint Tempura

Bookings need to be made through the hotel at trees@townhouse.co.za or by calling Townhouse Hotel on +27 (0)21 465 7050. The three-course meal costs R198p/p. Additional drinks are at patrons’ own account.

Doors open at the restaurant at 7pm.
