iKapa Dance Theatre presents FUSE
A creation originally performed in collaboration with New York’s Steps Ensemble in 2010
This production offers four different interpretations of the theme of Peace & Reconciliation from two top Cape Town based companies, and displays their diversity of dance styles as well as their intense technical and artistic abilities.
Forgiveness is an African Contemporary creation choreographed by Maxwell Xolani Rani and inspired by the works of Katherine Piderman, who believes that forgiveness is a decision to let go of resentment and thoughts of revenge. You can forgive the person without excusing the act. Forgiveness brings peace that enables you to go on with life.
“I want you, I need you, I love you, but…” isa neo classical work choreographed by Ebrahim Medell, which explores Peace and Reconciliation within personal relationships and showcases the iKapa dancers technical excellence and dynamic energy.
Finding Peace of Mind explores the process of finding inner peace and reconciling the mind, body and soul. Created by Theo Ndindwa and Tanya Arshamian and inspired by a real-life tragedy, the choreography depicts the stages of loss and loneliness: losing one’s way, acceptance and finally, finding the strength to move on.
iKapa Dance Theatre has invited Remix Dance Company to join them this season in the theme of collaboration and fusion, and they will be bringing with them their interpretation of Peace & Reconciliation.
There will be one show on May 20th @ 20:00 and two shows on May 21st @ 15:00 and 20:15
R70p/p @ Adults | R35p/p @ Children, students or OAP
