This month we celebrate National Women's Day, and there are loads of ways to spend Wednesday, 9 August here in Cape Town. Join a woman-owned event with live entertainment, watch a performance by GBV survivors, go to a pop up market + more.
PARTY AT LADIES NIGHT WITH DRINKS SPECIALS
Ladies, this one’s for you. Enjoy a night of grooving, singing and drinks with Metro Events at Sgt Pepper. Invite your girl friends and enjoy the all-star lineup of some local DJ’s like Mia Mia, Kane, JMD, Caylin Gilmore and more. Plus food and drinks specials specifically to honour and celebrate women.

GO TO A POP UP MARKET
Cheverells Farm in Elgin is hosting a Women's Day Pop Up Market, showcasing beautiful artisanal pieces in the gift shop and top local exhibitors. Shop for everything from candles and activewear to jewellery and kids sleepwear. You can also enjoy treats like coffee, gin or wine and the winter menu at the Farm Shed Café.

SUPPORT AN ANTI-GBV CAUSE
Join Justice Desk Africa this Women's Day for an incredible performance that will celebrate, challenge and encourage collaboration for a better future for women and girls. Young GBV and sexual assault survivors from various Justice Desk Africa anti-GBV projects will be front and centre in a showcase at the V&A Waterfront Amphitheatre to help raise awareness for GBV. The performance will be accompanied by music from members of the Cape Town Philharmonic Orchestra and the Mbokodo Girls Choir,

JOIN AN ENGAGING TALK
The Women’s Day Celebration Nia Event at the Rupert Museum promises to be an extraordinary day of joy, movement, and meaningful impact. It will include an engaging talk, featuring esteemed clinical psychologist, Simone Arendse, a playful interactive Nia experience with dancing, canapes, goody bags and a dress up competition. The event is raising funds for CANSA.

Cost: Tickets range from R200 - R350 depending on how much you can spend

VISIT THIS FUNDRAISER AND BEAT R33K
Calling all super women to join in alliance for a bold cause. Super Women Achieving Together, an initiative created by women for women in aid of women, is hosting a fundraiser event at Old Biscuit Mill. A ticket includes: Entry, a complimentary welcome drink, live entertainment, goodie bags, lucky draws and prizes. All profits will be donated to a charity (last year the event raised R33k).
