Underground Dance Sounds On Long Street With KhoiKhoi Records

An electronic music EP launch party will add extra bounce to Long Street

Long Street better be ready to bounce when Khoi Khoi records brings the launch party for its latest EP release, Raising The Ancestors, to The Waiting Room on 8 June 2019.


HOW TO RAISE THE ANCESTORS
This will be the fledgling Khoi Khoi record’s second release, and it focuses on the flag bearers of SA's underground electronic music scene.

Raising the Ancestors is a four-track EP featuring Xee and CodeKid with a polyrhythmic tune called Machine Malling that has evolving crescendos and a haunting melody. Also on the EP are Fred Buddah with a synth-laden track called Be and It, Bodycode doing his take on Gqom (the new Mzansi sound craze) with a track called Graphene and t.Siza with a warm, jazzy track called Voyage Ye High.

WHO’S WHO AT THE WAITING ROOMS
Sound of Xee and Codekid will be doing a set while repping the EP and their track at the launch party. They’ll be joined by the brooding house and techno sounds of Aryu Jassika and Joymode.
