This Sunday brunch could be your new family tradition

Sundays are for family and food, and Café Extrablatt is where the two meet. Every weekend this Green Point café serves a bottomless buffet with waffles, omelettes, pastries and good ol’ bacon. It’s open 365 days a year (even on public holidays), so this brunch could be your new Sunday tradition. There’s even a colourful kids’ corner.

SOAK UP THE CHILLED SUNDAY VIBES

The café is just a 2 minute walk from Cape Town Stadium in Green Point. The building is two stories and has two balconies, and the sun seeps into the space, making it warm and cosy. There are enough seating options, whether you’re a big group or need a small nook.

HELP YOURSELF; IT’S A BOTTOMLESS BRUNCH

The Sunday brunch buffet is bursting with food options for the whole family and is a great deal. It includes cereals, pastries, meats, cheeses, salads, omelettes and even warm waffles. Owner Guido Dierschke recommends adding a bit of Nutella to melt on the warm waffle… and we agree. Brunch is from 9am to 2pm, so there’s no reason to rush.

IT’S OPEN EVERY SINGLE DAY 

Café Extrablatt is open 365 days a year – even on public holidays. It’s the laidback place to go if you need a hearty breakfast on New Year’s Day, or want an impressive spread on Boxing Day that you don’t have to clean up.

LET THE KIDS PLAY

At the back of the café is the colourful kids’ corner, with a punchy superhero mural. Kids can get their Picasso on and draw on the blackboards with chalk, or play with the available toys or read books. And for the adults, there's a shisha lounge upstairs at Café Extrablatt.
