LONGTABLE RESTAURANT
The design of the Longtable Restaurant with its beautiful artwork and steampunk-like decor makes you feel as though you are in the middle of trendy Woodstock, but the minute you look out the window, you are arrested by the beauty of the vineyard views. When the idea was conceived for the Longtable Restaurant, it was meant to inspire a sense of community in patrons: To sit together, enjoy good food, fine wine and excellent conversation. 

The restaurant opened after a renovation in December 2017, and while it has a stylish update, the same concept still applies and the restaurant encourages guests to share and compare their food (unless, of course, you want to get cosy at a two-seater table).

They describe the experience as a "food adventure" with a diversity of flavour led by new head chef Cornelle Minie, former head chef of Babel at Babylonstoren, who took over the kitchen reigns in September 2018.

VEGGIES SOURCED FROM THE AREA
Rooted in the idea that humans are stewards of the earth and that farming should not harm the environment, dining at the Longtable Restaurant means choosing from a menu of dishes made from vegetables sourced from farms in the surrounding area. Some of the greens are even grown in the vineyard’s own garden. Their supplier, Genesis, is a Stellenbosch based family-run organic vegetable farm, who believes in sun, soil and water being the only ingredients for growing healthy and delicious food. The restaurant's fish supply comes from Abalobi – all seafood comes directly from small-scale fishers. Customers can now enjoy seafood that literally travels from hook to cook, which means they can make choices that are conscious, delicious and responsible.

Choosing Abalobi means that they link directly to the small-scale fisher who caught it and ensures that they get a fair price and recognition for their efforts.

The Longtable Restaurant also sells their wines (Dombeya and Haskell) at cellar door price.
