It has been 60 years since the commemoration of the Organisation of African Unity on 25 May 1963. Join an African month dining experience, go to an art auction and food fair or dance to reggae music and djembe drumming. Here’s how to celebrate Africa Day.
Celebrate Africa Day through a shared dining experience at The Commons in Muizenberg. The three-course menu, curated by Observatory ice-cream store Tapi Tapi, features African food like mabele and maize manhuchu with roasted butternut, toasted egusi and imphepho-smoked amasi. The evening will include rituals and music, with a great view of the ocean.
Date: Wednesday, 24 May; from 7pm
Cost: R250; book via Quicket
