Let’s face it, there are days when you just don’t feel like cooking after work. At these times, it’s good to remember Asami’s sushi and Asian restaurants. Three days a week it offers excellent specials or combo deals, which means you can eat out more often without too much strain on the wallet. Go with two friends and order any three sushi combos and only pay for two.

The specials run on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays and there are two combo price options: R139 and R129. Both options offer eight variations ranging between 16 and 20 pieces of any sushi, from salmon, tuna and avo, and even caramalised prawns.

DOUBLE NOODLE MONDAYS
Here's a silver lining for the start of the work week: Asami is offering a two-for-one noodle special, which means Monday pressure doesn't need to include cooking on the schedule. Choose from Chow Mein, Pad Thai, Udon or Singapore noodles and get another one free, every Monday.


THE BIGGEST SUSHI BELT YOU’LL EVER SEE
There are five Asami’s across the Western Cape, from Cape Town to Knysna (it’s grown this size in less than five years), and not to pick a favourite, but Asami’s Tygervalley has the biggest sushi conveyor belt you’ll ever see. It takes a full eight minutes for a dish to go full circle, if it’s lucky enough to still be there second-time around. Four sushi chefs man the belt, slicing and dicing and constantly replenishing the supply.

Another bonus: at Tygervalley you get two hours’ free parking on the upper level, so take your time at that buffet.
