My Karoo Buurman Oktoberfees, where Music and Craft Beer Take Centre Stage
Never before tasted craft beers and a local lineup with something for everyone, from Akkedis to Gerard Clark, at the very first My Karoo Buurman
Get ready for an Oktoberfest with an edge – the first-ever My Karoo Buurman Oktoberfees comes to Simonsvlei Winery on Saturday, 28 October 2017.
Oktoberfest is the renowned annual German beer jol that gets replicated the world over; My Karoo Buurman is similar, but infused with local flavour. Think live music, superb craft beer (and wine), against stunning views on a wine farm. Get your family to Paarl for a day of dancing and drinking.
WHAT TO EXPECT AT THE FIRST-EVER MY KAROO BUURMAN OKTOBERFEES IN PAARL
Craft beer from three up-and-coming SA breweries: Don’t expect the same old beers you’ll find elsewhere at this fest. It will be showcasing the delicious creations of The Kennel Brewery, Buurman Brouwerke and Karoo Craft Breweries with offerings of golden ice-cold pints. These small breweries’ unique craft brews are not to be missed. Indulge in one (or three) for a new taste experience.
Not everyone is a beer fan, but not to worry as various wonderful wines, including ones by Simonsvlei of course, will be flowing for the vino lovers to enjoy. You’ll be in the Winelands, after all, so it’s only appropriate.
Eight extraordinary local music acts, and one international artist: My Karoo Buurman is going to be setting a high standard with its line-up of top musos performing live on stage all day. Look forward to headlining performances by Akkedis and Gerald Clark, with supporting acts by Ricky Nass, Boulevard Blues, Johnny Camel, François Haasbroek, Mean Black Mamba and The Pelicans. What’s more, Swiss DJ Dinka will be performing with The Pelicans.
Activities for the children: The kids will be kept busy having their own fun with activities arranged just for them, while you sip on a cold one and enjoy the music.
Delicious food and beautiful scenery: There’ll of course be plenty of delectable eats to keep you happy and energised throughout the day. Adding to the overall ambiance and good vibes, you’ll also be able to soak in Simonsvlei’s astounding views of the Paarl mountains.
