Leopards Leap serves succulent rotisserie roast
It’s family friendly, has a harvest table, plus there’s a big lawn to play on
At Leopard’s Leap Family Vineyards, Chef Christiaan Visser puts together the perfect lunch table, especially on Sundays and Wednesdays, and at the centre of it all is the most succulent rotisserie chicken.
The idea is that lunch is served, family-style, with dishes of salads and vegetables harvested from the organic garden on the farm and everyone helps themselves. It’s perfect for a big get-together of family and friends.
THERE’S A CHOICE OF OTHER ROASTS, TOO
The meats are roasted on a state-of-the-art Rotisol spit, which makes the meat as tender as can be and succulent, too. Besides chicken, there’s also usually pork belly or lamb neck.
There’s a selection of roast vegetables, too, and sides also include a range of salads. Tables can be booked inside the restaurant or on the stoep, which has views of the surrounding vineyards and mountains, and even outside in pleasant weather.
THE ESTATE OFFERS A DIVERSE WINE RANGE
Leopard’s Leap celebrates its diversity. There are five wine ranges to cater to different palettes, occasions and budgets. The entry-level Lookout Range is perfect for a night in or a family braai. And let’s not forget those big family milestones, when you’ll want to bring out the signature Culinaria Collection, which can only be bought on the wine farm and includes an elegant MCC.
You can do it in one of three ways: a tasting for smaller groups in which you select any six wines from the ranges, or for groups larger than five in which all taste the same wines, or you can do it virtually.
