Ticket sales are now live for 2025. You can buy them via Wolfie Familie Festival's website.
Every year, there's a magical long weekend in Citrusdal where kids get to fully embrace their true selves, and adults rediscover their inner-child and reconnect. It’s 3 days of camping and glamping filled with crafts, games, swimming and kayaking in the river, live music and shows, and cherished moments of quality family bonding.
It’s the Wolfie Family Festival, and it’s on from 8 - 10 March 2024. Book via Wolfkop Weekender.

Wolfie Familie Festival has developed a reputation as one of the best family-friendly festivals of the summer. It’s not just about the camping here – it’s an arts, science, comedy and lots-of-other-stuff festival too.
The weekend is jam-packed with activities at almost every hour. Giant bubble-making, storytelling, movie time, live music, hula dancing, magicians, a nature excursion, mask making, face painting and more (whatever interests your wolfies).
Here’s a sneak peak of what to expect:
The schedule kicks off on Friday when the fun park and animal garden opens; peaks at the fire show by the Psychedelic Theatre at 8pm; and ends with live music and a kiddies movie at 9pm. There's a lot of other things in between, like the Joy Session.
Tickets include your accommodation, entry to the 4 day festival and all shows and activities part of it. Image: Wolfie Familie Festival
Saturday and Sunday’s start at 7:30am with a secret sunrise disco, followed by family yoga at the main stage and a guided science inquiry in nature for 4 to 10 year olds. Everybody loves the talent show on Saturday at 5pm, too.
Lights out is at 11pm each night and no sound systems are allowed in the camp sites, meaning your wolfies can get a good night’s rest after a busy day. See the full weekend line-up on the Wolfie website.
You decide what activities you and your kids’ would like to participate in. Image: Wolfie Familie Festival
Wolfie Familie Festival is not the type of event where you drop the kids off and see them again a few days later. The aim is to immerse yourself in the full experience while creating new family memories. Get messy, dance and sing along, and even get wet in the river. Whatever you do, it’s a time to reconnect with your child, your partner, other parents, grandparents and yourself. It’s easy to see why it’s become a truly multi-generational affair.
There’s no baby sitters - it’s all about quality family time. Image: Wolfie Familie Festival
There are three accommodation zones at Wolfkop Camping Villages: Golden Valley, Lost Valley and Berry Fields. Each has different camping options, from bring-your-own-tent to Birds Nests – Wolfie's take on glamping – that includes shaded tents with beds, bedding, mattresses and lights.
For luxury there’s a villa set-up that includes a kitchen (fridge and wash area), braai pit and lounge area. These sell fast.
Tickets start at R293 per child (0 - 3 years) and R950 per adult, for bring-your-own camping for four nights (you can check in Thursdays and check out on Monday). Get details, prices and book your tickets on the Wolfie website.

Parents can catch up on work, if need be, thanks to the available wifi and work space in the bar area.
Or just relax at Healing Daydream Wellness Spa, which has a variety of treatments for adults and kids. There’s massages (full-body, deep tissue, scalp/foot/back), manis and pedis, temporary glitter tattoos, face shimmers and more.
Bring along a yoga matt or towel for the family morning yoga sessions. Image: Wolfie Familie Festival
Bring along your swimming goggles and running shoes. Life jackets or inflatable armbands are also a good idea. The Olifants River runs along the camp, so don’t forget to pack lilos. Plus there’s kayaking and water slides. For more on what to bring and what to expect, read the super-useful prepping for Wolfie guide on their website.
There will be medics and lifeguards on sight. Image: Wolfie Familie Festival
You may not be able to bring your pet family members, but there’ll be plenty of petting opportunities in the Animal Garden. There’ll mostly be farmyard animals like sheep, rabbits, guinea pigs and even tortoises.
All the animals are gentle enough for the kids to hold. Image: Wolfie Familie Festival
There’ll be food trucks and a bar service selling all kinds of drinks, coffee and smoothies all weekend, but if you want to take your own supplies, there are dedicated safe braai zones.
We suggest you bring along your cooler box and water bottles (no glass allowed) as ice will be sold at the event.
Don’t forget to pack your own snacks for your little ones; you know best. Image: Wolfie Familie Festival
Young businessmen/women can show off their creations at the Stars of the Future Garden, where kids can sell products they’ve made from 2-5pm on Friday and Saturday. To participate, request an application form by sending an email to howl@wolfie.co.za.
