Give Thanks to Mother Nature at the 2018 Delheim Harvest Festival
Roll up your trousers and get ready to stomp grapes at the Delheim Harvest Festival
Ever wondered how grapes are turned into the delicious nectar we know as wine? Come see for yourself, and take part in the making process, at the 2018 Delheim Harvest Festival on Saturday, 27 January at Delheim Wine Estate in Stellenbosch.
Grapes are summer fruits, which means that they need to be harvested between February and March in South Africa, and it’s all hands on deck at Delheim.
THANK YOU, MOTHER NATURE
Delheim Wine Estate is committed to celebrating what Mother Nature has given them… grapes. And like every year, the Delheim Harvest Festival is a celebration of this gift. Festivities kick off at 11:30am and carry on until late in the afternoon.
The first harvest feast is served at 1pm to get the bellies full before the grape stomping starts after lunch. Remember to dress comfortably for these fun – and dirty! – activities.
Taking place against the backdrop of giant oak trees and marvellous views of the surrounds, this is one of the most relaxing and fun things to do in the Winelands this summer. And besides the grape stomping, wine drinking, and food munching you’ll be entertained by live music from multi-instrumentalist folk rock duo, Bottomless Coffee Band.
TAKE YOUR PLACE AT THE TABLE
The Harvest Table is one of the highlights of the day, where guests are invited to come and relax at one long harvest table laden with a feast of fresh and scrumptious harvest fare. The Delheim team takes the opportunity of the harvest festival to highlight the importance of family. And thus they come together to bring food and wine lovers one spectacular day of harvesting grapes and having an all-round good time.
