2017 CAF Africa Cup of Nations

The 2017 CAF Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) will be hosted by Gabon and will feature 16 of the top teams from around the continent. South Africa is currently ranked 15th in Africa, seven places ahead of the hosts, and are in third place of Group M.
So far, 10 teams have qualified for the final tournament – Gabon, Morocco, Algeria, Cameroon, Senegal, Egypt, Ghana, Guinea-Bissau, Zimbabwe and Mali. Bafana Bafana have failed to qualify for the 2017 CAF Africa Cup of Nations. The winner of AFCON 2017 will then qualify for the 2017 FIFA Confederations Cup in Russia.
