Join Bonang Matheba, Miss Universe 2019, Zozibini Tunzi, Africa Is Not A Jungle featuring Black Coffee, and more at the Sun Met (and its after-party) taking place at the Kenilworth Racecourse on Saturday, 1 February 2020.
DRESS TO THE THEME AND STRIKE A POSE
The Sun Met décor will be drawing on the theme of African Luxury: Visionary. Each year, the theme invites fashion-fiends to dress for the extravagant occasion – any look that captures your interpretation of the theme is good to go. There are areas where you can watch the races, a red carpet where the attendees can strike poses, and an entertainment marquee where the fashion show, best-dressed competition, and after-party will all be held.
BARS, ENTERTAINMENT AND CULINARY EXPERIENCES
In the public arena, you’ll find a variety of premium culinary experiences, bar facilities, and entertainment throughout the day. Attendees can sip on House of BNG sparkling wine, the event’s official celebration partner, or enjoy an ice-cold Stella Artois while they watch the races.
DJ LINE-UP AT THE AFTER-PARTY
Africa Is Not A Jungle featuring Black Coffee, Themba, and Da Capo

THE HORSES GALLOPING TO TAKE FIRST PRIZE
Parties, drinks and fashion are all good, but the main event at the Sun Met is the horse racing. Horses forecast to join in on the festivities include South Africa’s Horse of the Year and early Sun Met 2020s favourite, Do It Again. The Sun Met 2019 winner, Rainbow Bridge, has their eye on the prize while Hawwaam wants to bring the win to Gauteng as Johannesburg’s number one contender.
ATTENDING THE SUN MET 2020
Tickets start at R200 and hospitality packages start at R1850 and can be booked online. Please note that the event is only suitable for those over the age of 18. For more information, contact the organisers on socialmedia@suninternational.com. Racegoers can make use of the Chukker Road parking facility at R100 per car where the shuttle service will take patrons to and from the venue. Hospitality ticket holders can park their vehicles in the inner field for R100 per vehicle.
